As an MRI Technologist, you operate advanced Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) equipment, creating detailed diagnostic images that are crucial for patient care and treatment planning. You ensure a safe and comfortable environment for patients while producing high-quality scans that empower physicians with critical information. This role combines technical expertise with compassionate patient interaction, directly impacting health outcomes.

Job Duties and Responsibilities
  • Operates Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) equipment to perform diagnostic procedures.
  • Executes a wide range of MRI Procedures according to established protocols, ensuring optimal image quality.
  • Prioritizes and maintains Patient Safety throughout all stages of the imaging process, including screening and monitoring.
  • Performs expert Image Acquisition, adjusting parameters to achieve clear and diagnostic images.
  • Applies comprehensive knowledge of Anatomy and Cross-sectional Anatomy to accurately position patients and interpret imaging requests.
  • Provides exceptional Patient Care, explaining procedures, answering questions, and ensuring patient comfort and cooperation.
  • Prepares and administers Contrast Media Administration as required for specific procedures, following physician orders and safety guidelines.
  • Performs Venipuncture accurately and safely for the administration of contrast agents.
  • Utilizes PACS (Picture Archiving and Communication System) effectively for image storage, retrieval, and transmission, ensuring proper documentation.
  • Collaborates with radiologists and other healthcare professionals to ensure accurate and timely diagnostic results.
  • Maintains equipment, troubleshoots minor issues, and reports malfunctions to appropriate personnel.
Required Qualifications
Education
  • Completes an accredited program in Radiologic Technology or Magnetic Resonance Imaging.
  • Holds current certification as an MRI Technologist (e.g., ARRT (MR)).
Experience
  • Possesses a minimum of one year of experience performing MRI Procedures in a clinical setting.
Knowledge/Skills
  • Demonstrates expert knowledge of Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) principles, safety, and operation.
  • Applies advanced understanding of MRI Procedures and protocols.
  • Exhibits strong commitment to Patient Safety and adherence to all safety regulations.
  • Proficiently performs Image Acquisition techniques and optimizes image quality.
  • Possesses in-depth knowledge of human Anatomy and Cross-sectional Anatomy.
  • Delivers excellent Patient Care with empathy and clear communication.
  • Competently performs Contrast Media Administration procedures.
  • Skilled in Venipuncture techniques.
  • Proficiently uses PACS (Picture Archiving and Communication System) and other relevant imaging software.
  • Communicates effectively with patients, physicians, and colleagues.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Holds additional certifications in other imaging modalities.
  • Possesses experience with multiple MRI scanner platforms.
Physical Requirements/Work Conditions
  • Stands and walks for extended periods during shifts.
  • Lifts and assists patients with mobility, positioning, and transfers.
  • Works in an environment with strong magnetic fields, adhering to strict safety protocols.
  • Operates complex medical equipment, requiring manual dexterity and visual acuity.
  • May be exposed to bloodborne pathogens and other infectious materials.
