Job summary

Ridgeview Medical Center is seeking an MRI Technologist to perform high-quality diagnostic MRI exams in accordance with established procedures. You will interact with patients and staff to ensure safety and accurate imaging across Ridgeview locations.

Responsibilities include operating and maintaining MRI equipment, reviewing cases with Radiology, and delivering compassionate care in a fast-paced environment. ARRT MR certification and CPR are required, with additional MR credentials preferred.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of MRI sequences and anatomy on MRI images.
  • Ability to maintain patient safety and comfort during scans.
  • Familiarity with PACS and basic Microsoft Office applications.

Responsibilities

  • Interact with patients, providers, and staff professionally to ensure patient safety.
  • Produce high quality and accurate diagnostic MRI images.
  • Assist with maintenance of MRI equipment and room readiness.
  • Review cases with Radiologist to confirm imaging data.
  • Monitor patient during scanning for safety concerns (e.g., overheating, discomfort).
  • Perform intravenous access as needed.
  • Demonstrate proper cleaning and sanitization between patients.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Overview

Purpose of Job

This position is responsible for performing high quality and accurate diagnostic x-rays and Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) exams in accordance with established procedures.

Responsibilities
  1. Interacts with patients, providers, and staff in a professional and courteous manner to ensure safety for our patients.
  2. Produces high quality and accurate diagnostic x-rays and MRI images.
  3. Assists with maintenance of equipment to ensure patient safety and proper working order.
  4. Reviews cases with Radiologist to ensure accuracy of clinical data obtained.
  5. Monitors patient while performing scan for any safety concerns such as overheating, discomfort etc.
  6. Performs intravenous access technique as needed.
  7. Demonstrates room and equipment cleaning process between patients.
  8. Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Education/Work Experience
  • Graduate of an AMA accredited school of Radiology
  • Registered by the ARRT in MR (Employees cross-trained by Ridgeview have 1 year from the completion of training to become certified)
  • Meet basic requirements for the ACR accreditation
  • CPR Certified
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
  • Knowledge of anatomy and pathology seen on MRI images
  • Ability to meet and maintain the necessary background checks as aligned with position functions
  • Ability to serve patients in a friendly and efficient manner
  • Strong computer skills and basic Microsoft Office applications
  • Ability to respond appropriately to unpredictable situations and diverse patient populations
  • Ability to work autonomously and as a team
  • Capable of making independent decisions with the use of good critical thinking and problem solving skills
  • Ability and knowledge to complete job functions at all Ridgeview Imaging locations
  • Ability to communicate in the English language for effective written and verbal correspondence in order to complete job functions as mentioned above
License/Certification
  • Registered by the ARRT in MR (Employees cross-trained by Ridgeview have 1 year from the completion of training to become registered)
  • Must meet basic requirements for the ACR accreditations
