Job summary

Ridgeview Medical Center is seeking a patient-services support role within the Imaging Services Department. This position provides clinical patient care, assists with transport, and coordinates support functions to keep imaging workflows running smoothly.

The role involves greeting patients, prepping them for procedures, ensuring safety screenings, and coordinating with ER/UC for transport readiness. Strong English communication is required to interact with patients and staff.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and complete pre-procedural paperwork.
• Escort patients to imaging areas as needed.
• Screen patients for MRI safety prior to technologist review.
• Assist with patient prep, linen changes, and room turnover.
• Stock supplies and deliver items to clinics, lab, and ER.
• Coordinate with ER/UC for transport readiness and scheduling.
• Answer phones when the technologist is with a patient.
• Provide patient support and communicate delays.

Job description

Purpose of Job

Provide support for all sub-departments within the Imaging Services Department with clinical patient care, transport of patients and coordinator support functions.

Job Functions

1. Greets patients and provides them with pre-procedural paperwork.
2. Escorts patients to area's as needed.
3. Appropriately screens patient for MRI safety prior to MRI Technologist review.
4. Provide oral contrast to CT patients which has been prepared by the Technologist.
5. Provide lifting and transfer help for patients getting on and off the modality tables.
6. Change linens and clean room between patients.
7. Stock supplies
8. manages linens.
9. Burn CDs
10. assist patient in completing authorization paperwork.
11. Engaging with patients and communicating any delays.
12. Answering phone calls when Technologist is with patient.
13. Scheduling Same Day Add-on patient exams.
14. Provides patient prep instructions for Imaging by removing jewelry, clothing and metal that may interfere.
15. Communicating with the ER/UC for patient transport readiness.
16. Confirming Lab values and IV access.
17. Delivering items to clinics, lab and ER.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

• Ability to meet and maintain the necessary background checks as aligned with position functions.
• Ability to communicate in the English language for effective written and verbal correspondence in order to complete job functions as mentioned above.
