Job summary

Nationwide Children’s Hospital is seeking a part-time MR safety support role working approximately 20 hours per week over 3–4 days. Shifts run 12:00 pm to 11:00 pm and focus on MRI safety, screening for contraindications, and monitoring equipment to ensure patient and staff safety during MRI procedures.

Responsibilities include enforcing controlled access to the magnet zones, performing ferrous object screening, and complying with radiology safety policies and regulatory guidelines.

Qualifications

  • High school graduate required.
  • Current CPR certification preferred.
  • Healthcare exposure/education in progress preferred.

Overview

Schedule: Approximately 20 hours/week spread out over 3-4 days in shifts of 4-6 hours M-F availability, 12:00 pm to 11:00 pm required. Job Description Summary: Ensures safety of patients and staff during MRI procedures by screening and monitoring for contraindications and maintaining equipment.

Job Description

Essential Functions: Maintains security around the entrance to each magnet. Ensures that no person enters Zone 3 without proper screening for ferrous objects. Uses metal detection devices as warranted to detect ferrous objects. Actively participates in the responsibility for MR safety of each patient and other employees. Follows Radiation, MR, and general safety policies. Complies with radiology, state, federal, and other regulatory guidelines, and policies. Represents the department’s customer service focus for both internal and external contacts.

Education Requirement

High school graduate, required. Currently enrolled in healthcare related field of study, preferred.

Licensure Requirement

Certifications

Current CPR Certification, preferred.

Skills

High level of professionalism and ability to establish good rapport with patients and staff.

Experience

Healthcare or clinical experience, preferred.
