Job summary

University of Southern California is seeking a Project Specialist to support an NIH-funded, multidisciplinary study of lower urinary tract dysfunction after stroke. The role involves coordinating MRI visits, processing imaging data, and integrating imaging with clinical outcomes.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in MRI/neuroimaging, programming skills in Python/MATLAB/R, and experience with statistical analyses and reproducible research practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in neuroscience, biomedical engineering, computer science, psychology, biostatistics, data science, or related field.
• At least two years of related research experience; three+ preferred.
• Hands-on MRI/neuroimaging acquisition, processing, or analysis experience.
• Programming in Python, MATLAB, and/or R; Linux-based computing experience.
• Experience with statistical analysis, reproducible research practices, and documentation.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to data integrity and regulatory requirements.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and ability to collaborate.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and perform MRI research visits, including safety screening, setup, and QC.
• Assist with protocol development; improve MRI data acquisition and analysis workflows.
• Synchronize MRI, urodynamic, treatment, and outcome visits across time points.
• Support participant screening, study sample management, and retention.
• Ensure data quality control for anatomical, functional, and diffusion MRI data.
• Develop reproducible neuroimaging pipelines and integrate imaging with clinical data.
• Prepare analyses, tables, figures, and reports for manuscripts and grants.
• Participate in team meetings and contribute to scholarly outputs; assist with training.
