MRI, Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologist - Full Time Texarkana

Summary

The Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) Technologist will perform a variety of routine and advanced imaging procedures, support other imaging technologists, and facilitate smooth patient flow. Flexibility to work different shifts and at various campuses is required. The role involves troubleshooting basic maintenance, participating in QA, resolving image processing and archiving issues, and engaging in ongoing education related to safety and technical advances. The Technologist must also conduct basic MRI screening, maintenance, repairs, and ensure MRI safety and competencies are maintained according to management standards. Behavior and communication skills should align with the organization’s mission and values.

Responsibilities

  • Promote staff growth and collaboration with management, coworkers, and physicians.
  • Assist radiologists and referring physicians to ensure physician satisfaction.
  • Protect patient confidentiality and handle confidential information appropriately.
  • Adapt patient assessment and care methods to meet individual needs.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory policies and standards.
  • Perform examinations and procedures to support patient throughput within scope of licensure and competencies.
  • Work flexibly across shifts and campuses as needed.
  • Ensure exams are properly scanned and stored in PACS, follow PACS procedures during downtime, and escalate issues promptly.
  • Report equipment malfunctions and perform follow-up actions.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
Education/Skills
  • Graduate of an accredited Radiology Technology program or equivalent.
Experience
  • Preferred: 1 year in a hospital or clinical setting.
  • Basic computer skills required.
Licenses, Registrations, or Certifications
  • ARRT or ARMRIT MRI certification required within 1 year of hire.
  • State licensure if applicable (e.g., MRT by MIRTP NMED in New Mexico).
  • BLS certification required.
