Job summary

Shields Health in Massachusetts is seeking an MRI Imaging Support Specialist to monitor patients during scans and assist with setup and safety inside the MRI environment.

You will coordinate with a remote MRI Technologist, ensure clear communication with patients, position patients safely, and respond to emergencies in Zone 3 and 4. The role requires CPR, strong communication, and adherence to safety protocols; Alpha RT MRI Tech Aide Certificate within 30 days is expected.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; radiologic/MRI certifications are a plus.
• CPR certification required.
• Prior experience in medical imaging MRI field preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to follow detailed safety protocols.
• Ability to remain calm and respond quickly in emergencies.
• Understanding of MRI equipment and protocols.
• Must complete Alpha RT MRI Tech Aide Certificate Program within 30 days of accepting the role.

Responsibilities

• Directly monitor patients during MRI procedures in Zones 3 and 4.
• Assist with patient positioning and comfort while adhering to safety standards.
• Maintain clear communication with the remote MRI Technologist and the patient.
• Assist in selection and handling of MRI coils and equipment with the remote tech.
• Oversee setup and breakdown of MRI equipment per safety procedures.
• Provide immediate first response to emergencies and follow established protocols.
• Escort patients through Zone 2 when required.
