Job summary

Atlantic Health System in Hackettstown, NJ is seeking an MRI Technologist to create diagnostic cross-sectional images using MRI equipment. The role requires careful patient positioning, selecting appropriate coils, and following radiologist instructions to obtain high-quality scans.

You will operate the MRI system, adjust sequences, and monitor patient safety from the control room while ensuring clear communication with patients throughout the procedure.

Qualifications

• Certified MRI technologist with knowledge of MRI safety protocols.
• Experience operating MRI scanners and image acquisition.
• Ability to follow Radiologist instructions and protocols.

Responsibilities

• Position patient on examining table and place specified coil near area of interest per Radiologist’s request.
• Demonstrate use of microphone for patient-technologist communication during examination.
• Enter data such as patient history, anatomical area to be scanned, orientation, and entry position into the system.
• Key commands to set scan sequences and adjust transmitters/receivers in the computer.
• Monitor patient safety and comfort from control room and CCTV during the exam.
• View images on display to ensure quality of the pictures.
• Input data on the keyboard to capture images.
• Alert staff about magnet-safety regarding metal around the magnet.
