ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  1. The MRI Technologist operates the Magnetic Resonance operations at SimonMed Imaging centers.
  2. Knowledge of magnetic resonance imaging procedures and technology.
  3. Operates a magnetic resonance scanner to obtain images used by physicians in the diagnosis and treatment of pathologies.
  4. Selects appropriate imaging techniques, and operates console and peripheral hardware; enters and monitors patient data, transfers images from disk to magnetic media to produce the transparency, and develops film in automatic processor.
  5. Obtains images, produces film records and backups from disk to storage media, and transfers from desk to PACS stations.
  6. Maintains accurate study documentation.
  7. Performs a variety of tasks.
  8. A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required.
  9. Demonstrates competency in the performance of job-related skills appropriate to his/her customer populations and departmental services while providing excellent customer service.
  10. Utilizes and operates equipment and mechanical devices which provide for a functional, effective, and safe environment.
  11. Adheres to policies, procedures, and guidelines relative to departmental operations.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

License/Certification:

  1. Registration as a MR Technologist by the A.R.R.T. or ARMRIT.
  2. CPR certification.

Experience:

  1. 1 year in fast-paced MRI environment preferred.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: This position may require duties including lifting and carrying up to 40 pounds, sitting for prolonged periods of time, with frequent standing and walking.

DRESS ATTIRE: Business Casual or scrubs dependent on department.
