Job summary

SubCom, a leader in subsea fiber optic cable technology, seeks skilled technicians with a strong background in electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems. The role emphasizes fabrication, welding, and hands-on maintenance, with travel to remote locations and aboard ships.

Qualified candidates should have 8+ years of experience, a high school diploma, and the ability to obtain security clearance. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and willingness to operate heavy machinery are required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 8 years of combined military & relevant work experience preferred.
• Military experience preferred.
• Solid intermediate knowledge of electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, electro-hydraulic, pneumatic, and PLC-based machinery systems.
• Experience in welding, cutting, grinding, fabricating, and painting.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and track depot production and QA activities, and perform depot level machinery repair, maintenance, fabrication.
• Perform administrative support activities including database record keeping, report writing & submittals, and IT-related tasks.
• Carry out required duties aboard vessels in port or underway, depending on ships location.
• Operate forklifts and CAT III cranes, rig equipment for lifting, and manage loading/unloading of cable containers.
