Job summary

Recology is seeking an Operations Supervisor for the Materials Recovery Facility/Transfer Station (MRF) in San Francisco. You will supervise the operations department, schedule staff, ensure safety, and coordinate with other supervisors.

The ideal candidate has at least three years in waste/recycling operations with supervisory experience, knowledge of DOT regulations, and proficiency in Microsoft Office; a GED is required, and a Bachelor's degree is preferred.

Qualifications

• Three years in the waste industry or recycling programs with supervisory experience.
• Knowledge of DOT regulations and safety management principles.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and using data to inform priorities.

Responsibilities

• Schedule staff and balance workloads; arrange coverage for absences.
• Adjust procedures to meet production schedules and improve methods.
• Monitor operations for efficiency and quality; suggest improvements.
• Check incoming/outgoing material for quality standards.
• Report equipment malfunctions to maintenance.
• Coordinate across departments and shifts with other supervisors.
• Identify and report incidents and injuries; enforce safety rules.
• Administer collective bargaining agreements and support timekeeping.
