Job Title: MRF Equipment Operator I
Job Summary: The City of High Point is currently seeking a MRF Equipment Operator I who performs responsible semi-skilled work operating a front-end loader, skid steer, and forklift in the movement and separation of recyclable material at the city’s Material Recovery Facility; does related work as required. Work is performed under regular supervision.
Hearing/Speaking - Expressing and/or receiving information by means of spoken word are both necessary to converse with internal and external customers including co-workers, citizens, and applicants. Visual Abilities – the ability to perceive via eyesight is required for this position:
Physical Strength – degree of physical demands typically associated with this position include:
Physical Surroundings - The worker is subject to inside environmental conditions. Protection from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature changes. Worker is required to work in extremely hot weather and extremely cold weather without heat in the winter and air conditioning in the summer. The position is best suited for someone who doesn’t mind getting hot, cold, wet, dirty, and sweaty.
Hazards - Employee will be exposed to trash and garbage as well as various other items as discarded. Work is subject to final standards of OSHA on bloodborne pathogens.
