Job summary

Lockheed Martin Aeronautical Engineer Sr role focuses on leading MRB activities for F-35 flight‑test airframe and systems. You will oversee root-cause analysis, disposition of non‑conformances, and cross‑functional coordination to ensure airframe, electrical, fuel, and hydraulic integrity.

The position requires depot‑level expertise, ability to work off‑hours, and strong communication with engineering, maintenance, and quality teams.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Mechanical, Aeronautical, Aerospace, or Civil Engineering.
  • Experience with 3-D CAD tools such as CATIA, Solidworks, Pro/ENGINEER, Unigraphics or equivalents.
  • Experience providing engineering support for aircraft production, modification or sustainment.

Responsibilities

  • Lead material review activities supporting F-35 flight-test objectives.
  • Investigate anomalies and develop technical solutions for high‑performance airframe and systems.
  • Prepare and release disposition orders for aircraft non‑conformances.
  • Coordinate resolution across Stress/Service Life, QA, Structures, Systems Design, Safety, Materials and Processes groups.
  • Interface daily with maintenance and flight-test engineering staff to drive improvements and corrective actions.
  • Provide MRB coverage on second shift, including off‑hours and weekend support, and obtain MRB certification.

You will be the Aeronautical Engineer Sr for the F-35 Flight Test MRB Team which is responsible for ensuring airframe, electrical, fuel and hydraulic system integrity during F‑35 flight‑test missions.

What You Will Be Doing

As the Aeronautical Engineer Sr you will be responsible for leading material review activities that support F‑35 flight‑test objectives.

MUST BE A U.S. CITIZEN - This position is located at a facility that requires special access. The selected candidate must be able to obtain a secret clearance.

Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelors of Science Degree in Mechanical, Aeronautical, Aerospace, or Civil Engineering field.
  • Experience with CATIA, Solidworks, Pro Engineer, Unigraphics, or equivalent 3-D Computer Aided Design (CAD) tool.
  • Experience providing engineering support for aircraft production, modification, or sustainment.
Desired Skills
  • Experience with CATIA V5 and Team Center
  • Experience with metallic and composite design and/or analysis
  • Experience with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
  • Prior experience/role with MR Engineering signature authority
  • Strong internal and external customer focus
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $95900.00 - $178100.00

  • For (Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
