Job summary

Pratt & Whitney in Middletown, CT seeks a Material Review Board (MRB) Engineer – Engine Hardware to provide technical support for MRB processes and own engineering dispositions for nonconforming engine hardware. This role interfaces with Design Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Operations, and suppliers for sound, risk-based decisions.

The position is hybrid with travel up to 10% and requires a STEM degree with MRB/MRE certification potential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and 8 years of relevant experience, or an Advanced degree with 5 years of relevant experience.
• Ability to obtain Material Review Engineer (MRE) certification via MRB training and mentoring.

Responsibilities

• Develop a strong understanding of MRB procedures and ensure adherence to processes.
• Evaluate hardware nonconformances and provide dispositions for aerospace engine hardware.
• Own technical decisions ensuring product integrity, safety, quality, and compliance.
• Evaluate, investigate, and analyze nonconforming hardware and support rework/repair solutions.
• Support manufacturing during disposition to ensure safety, durability, producibility, and quality.
• Balance manufacturing capabilities with engineering requirements to develop risk-based dispositions.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Operations, and suppliers to resolve hardware issues.
• Maintain commitment to safety, ethics, product integrity, and customer requirements.
• Travel up to 10% (Domestic and International).
• Primary location Middletown, CT; travel to East Hartford, CT and supplier locations.
