Job summary

RAYUS Radiology in Mansfield, Texas is seeking an MRI Technologist to operate MRI scanners and produce diagnostic images. You will work in a patient-centered role, delivering services within professional standards and with excellent customer care on a temporary/PRN basis across flexible shifts.

The role requires completion of AMA approved radiography program, ARRT/ARMRIT registration, CPR, and state licensure as applicable.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Graduate of an AMA approved school of radiography.
• ARRT or ARMRIT registered technologist, current and in good standing.
• Licensed Radiologic Technologist in the appropriate state, if applicable.
• Current CPR certification.
• Sufficient training and experience to perform MRI procedures independently.
• Certification in imaging specialty.

Responsibilities

• Screens patient and verifies identifiers to ensure correct patient and procedure.
• Explains procedures and positions patients for accurate MRI imaging.
• Performs routine and advanced MRI scans with minimal supervision.
• Adjusts scan parameters as needed and ensures patient comfort.
• Follows physician orders, maintains RIS records, and adheres to safety regulations.
• Keeps work area clean and equipment sanitized.
• Maintains MRI equipment and complies with ACR accreditation requirements.
• Assists with maintaining imaging protocol manuals and software upgrades.
• Monitors supplies and assists in training new team members.
• Completes other tasks as assigned.

RAYUS Radiology is looking for an MRI Technologistto join our team. As an MRI Technologist, you will be responsible for the operation of assigned scanner(s) to produce images of the patient's body for diagnostic purposes. Taking a patient centered approach, you will provide MRI services within professional standards and with excellent customer service. This is a temporary/PRN position working various shifts, flexible schedule.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Screens patient before exam for any precautions or contradictions pertaining to examination, using two patient identifiers to ensure the correct patient and procedure


• Explains and prepares patients for MRI procedures that will be performed, explaining the procedure, positioning patients so that the parts of the body can be appropriately scanned


• Performs routine and advanced MRI procedures on designated portions of the body for use by physicians in the diagnosing and treating of patient illness and/or injury with minimal amount of supervision or repeated scanned, while providing patient support by talking to patients throughout procedure


• Adjusts MRI scan parameters correctly and as needed


• Follows physicians' orders precisely, conforms to safety regulations, and accurately maintains patient records within Radiology Information System (RIS)


• Maintains an orderly and clean work area including sanitized equipment promoting good safety habits for patients and team members


• Maintains equipment in good working order; cleans and disinfects equipment after each use


• Maintains ACR toolkit and accreditation requirements

(5%) MRI Department Support

• Assists with maintaining an updated imaging protocol manual and software upgrades


• Monitors medical supply inventory and requests supplies as necessary


• Assists in the training of new team members, providing resource and technical expertise, as applicable

Requirements

Required:

• High School diploma, or equivalent


• Graduate of an American Medical Association (AMA) approved school of radiography


• ARRT or ARMRIT registered technologist, current and in good standing, depending on State regulations and business need


• Licensed Radiological Technologist in the appropriate state, if applicable


• Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification


• Must have sufficient training and experience to competently perform MRI procedures independently


• Certification in imaging specialty
