Job summary

RAYUS Radiology in Salt Lake City is seeking an MRI Technologist to operate MRI scanners and provide high-quality imaging for diagnostic purposes.

The role emphasizes patient-centered care, safety, and accurate RIS documentation, with opportunities to participate in protocol improvements and team training. Qualifications include ARRT/ARMRIT, AMA-approved radiography, CPR, and state licensure where required; bilingual is a plus.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Graduate of an AMA approved school of radiography.
• ARRT or ARMRIT registered technologist, current and in good standing, depending on State regulations and business need.
• Licensed Radiological Technologist in the appropriate state, if applicable.
• Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification.
• Must have sufficient training and experience to competently perform MRI procedures independently.
• Certification in imaging specialty.

Responsibilities

• Screen patient before exam using two patient identifiers.
• Explain and prepare patients for MRI procedures, positioning for scanning.
• Perform routine and advanced MRI procedures with minimal supervision, providing patient support.
• Adjust MRI scan parameters as needed.
• Follow physicians' orders, conform to safety regulations, and maintain RIS records.
• Maintain a clean, safe work area and disinfect equipment after each use.
• Maintain equipment and ensure accreditation requirements.
• Assist with maintaining an updated imaging protocol manual and software upgrades.
• Monitor medical supply inventory and request supplies as necessary.
• Assist in training of new team members.

RAYUS Radiology is looking for an MRI Technologistto join our team. As a Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) technologist, you will be responsible for the operation of assigned scanner(s) to produce images of the patient's body for diagnostic purposes. Taking a patient centered approach, you will provide MRI services within professional standards and with excellent customer service.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

(90%) Patient MRI Imaging

1. Screens patient before exam for any precautions or contradictions pertaining to examination, using two patient identifiers to ensure the correct patient and procedure
2. Explains and prepares patients for MRI procedures that will be performed, explaining the procedure, positioning patients so that the parts of the body can be appropriately scanned
3. Performs routine and advanced MRI procedures on designated portions of the body for use by physicians in the diagnosing and treating of patient illness and/or injury with minimal amount of supervision or repeated scanned, while providing patient support by talking to patients throughout procedure
4. Adjusts MRI scan parameters correctly and as needed
5. Follows physicians' orders precisely, conforms to safety regulations, and accurately maintains patient records within Radiology Information System (RIS)
6. Maintains an orderly and clean work area including sanitized equipment promoting good safety habits for patients and team members
7. Maintains equipment in good working order; cleans and disinfects equipment after each use
8. Maintains ACR toolkit and accreditation requirements

(5%) MRI Department Support

1. Assists with maintaining an updated imaging protocol manual and software upgrades
2. Monitors medical supply inventory and requests supplies as necessary
3. Assists in the training of new team members, providing resource and technical expertise, as applicable

(5%) Completes other tasks as assigned

Required:

1. High School diploma, or equivalent
2. Graduate of an American Medical Association (AMA) approved school of radiography
3. ARRT or ARMRIT registered technologist, current and in good standing, depending on State regulations and business need
4. Licensed Radiological Technologist in the appropriate state, if applicable
5. Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification
6. Must have sufficient training and experience to competently perform MRI procedures independently
7. Certification in imaging specialty
