Job summary

RAYUS Radiology is seeking an MRI Technologist to operate MRI scanners and provide patient-centered imaging services. This part-time role offers 24 hours per week with varying 12-hour shifts, requiring strong patient communication and adherence to safety protocols.

The candidate will perform routine and advanced MRI procedures, ensure accurate RIS documentation, and support the department with protocol updates and training for new staff. Join a team dedicated to clinical excellence in radiology.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Graduate of an AMA approved school of radiography.
  • ARRT or ARMRIT registered technologist, current and in good standing.
  • Licensed Radiological Technologist in the appropriate state, if applicable.
  • Current CPR certification.
  • Ability to perform MRI procedures independently.
  • Certification in imaging specialty.

Responsibilities

  • Screen patients before MRI exams using two identifiers.
  • Explain procedures and position patients for scanning.
  • Perform routine and advanced MRI procedures with minimal supervision.
  • Adjust MRI parameters as needed.
  • Follow physician orders and maintain RIS records.
  • Maintain clean, safe work area and disinfect equipment.
  • Maintain MRI equipment and comply with ACR toolkit and accreditation.

RAYUS Radiology is looking for an MRI Technologist to join our team. We are challenging the status quo by shining light on radiology and making it a critical first step in diagnosis and proper treatment. Come join us and shine brighter together! As a Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) technologist, you will be responsible for the operation of assigned scanner(s) to produce images of the patient's body for diagnostic purposes. Taking a patient centered approach, you will provide MRI services within professional standards and with excellent customer service. This is a part-time position working 24 hours per week. Shifts vary and are 12 hour shifts.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
(90%) Patient MRI Imaging
  1. Screens patient before exam for any precautions or contradictions pertaining to examination, using two patient identifiers to ensure the correct patient and procedure
  2. Explains and prepares patients for MRI procedures that will be performed, explaining the procedure, positioning patients so that the parts of the body can be appropriately scanned
  3. Performs routine and advanced MRI procedures on designated portions of the body for use by physicians in the diagnosing and treating of patient illness and/or injury with minimal amount of supervision or repeated scanned, while providing patient support by talking to patients throughout procedure
  4. Adjusts MRI scan parameters correctly and as needed
  5. Follows physicians' orders precisely, conforms to safety regulations, and accurately maintains patient records within Radiology Information System (RIS)
  6. Maintains an orderly and clean work area including sanitized equipment promoting good safety habits for patients and team members
  7. Maintains equipment in good working order; cleans and disinfects equipment after each use
  8. Maintains ACR toolkit and accreditation requirements
(5%) MRI Department Support
  1. Assists with maintaining an updated imaging protocol manual and software upgrades
  2. Monitors medical supply inventory and requests supplies as necessary
  3. Assists in the training of new team members, providing resource and technical expertise, as applicable
(5%) Completes other tasks as assigned
Required:
  1. High School diploma, or equivalent
  2. Graduate of an American Medical Association (AMA) approved school of radiography
  3. ARRT or ARMRIT registered technologist, current and in good standing, depending on State regulations and business need
  4. Licensed Radiological Technologist in the appropriate state, if applicable
  5. Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification
  6. Must have sufficient training and experience to competently perform MRI procedures independently
  7. Certification in imaging specialty
Preferred:
  1. Bilingual
