Job summary

RAYUS Radiology in Baxter, MN is seeking an MRI Technologist to join our growing outpatient imaging center. The role involves performing high-quality MRI examinations with cross-training in CT and X-ray coverage, on a Monday–Friday, 8:00am–4:30pm schedule.

You will screen patients, perform MRI procedures, adhere to safety and RIS documentation, and support the department with protocol updates and supply management.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an AMA approved radiography program.
• ARRT registered technologist, current and in good standing.
• Licensed Radiological Technologist in the appropriate state, if applicable.
• CPR certification current.
• Able to perform MRI procedures independently.
• Certification in imaging specialty.
• Preferred: bilingual.

Responsibilities

• Screens patient before exam using two identifiers and ensures correct patient and procedure.
• Explains and prepares patients for MRI, positions them for optimal scanning.
• Performs routine and advanced MRI procedures with minimal supervision while communicating with patients.
• Adjusts MRI scan parameters and follows physicians' orders, ensuring RIS documentation.
• Maintains clean, safe work area and disinfects equipment after use.
• Maintains ACR toolkit and accreditation requirements.
• Assist with updated imaging protocol manuals, software upgrades, inventory, and training.

RAYUS Radiology is looking for an MRI Technologist to join our team. We are seeking a skilled and adaptable MRI Technologist to join our imaging team. The primary responsibility of this position is performing high-quality MRI examinations while also supporting the department through cross-training in CT and providing X-ray coverage. This is a full-time position working Monday-Friday from 8:00am-4:30pm.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

(90%) Patient MRI Imaging

1. Screens patient before exam for any precautions or contradictions pertaining to examination, using two patient identifiers to ensure the correct patient and procedure
2. Explains and prepares patients for MRI procedures that will be performed, explaining the procedure, positioning patients so that the parts of the body can be appropriately scanned
3. Performs routine and advanced MRI procedures on designated portions of the body for use by physicians in the diagnosing and treating of patient illness and/or injury with minimal amount of supervision or repeated scanned, while providing patient support by talking to patients throughout procedure
4. Adjusts MRI scan parameters correctly and as needed
5. Follows physicians' orders precisely, conforms to safety regulations, and accurately maintains patient records within Radiology Information System (RIS)
6. Maintains an orderly and clean work area including sanitized equipment promoting good safety habits for patients and team members
7. Maintains equipment in good working order; cleans and disinfects equipment after each use
8. Maintains ACR toolkit and accreditation requirements

(5%) MRI Department Support

1. Assists with maintaining an updated imaging protocol manual and software upgrades
2. Monitors medical supply inventory and requests supplies as necessary
3. Assists in the training of new team members, providing resource and technical expertise, as applicable

(5%) Completes other tasks as assigned

Required:

1. High School diploma, or equivalent
2. Graduate of an American Medical Association (AMA) approved school of radiography
3. ARRT registered technologist, current and in good standing, depending on State regulations and business need
4. Licensed Radiological Technologist in the appropriate state, if applicable
5. Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification
6. Must have sufficient training and experience to competently perform MRI procedures independently
7. Certification in imaging specialty

Preferred:

1. Bilingual
