Job description

Job Description Summary This position serves a key technical role within GE HealthCare’s MR Clinical Solutions & Research Collaborations team. The successful candidate will develop and implement novel acquisition, reconstruction, and analysis methods for fast and robust imaging through pulse sequence design, AI embedded reconstruction algorithms, and intelligent post-processing. The role requires close collaboration with academic partners, GE HealthCare scientists, and engineering teams to perform original and collaborative research, demonstrate clinical value, and translate prototypes toward product-ready solutions. GE Healthcare is a leading global medical technology and digital solutions innovator. Our mission is to improve lives in the moments that matter. Unlock your ambition, turn ideas into world-changing realities, and join an organization where every voice makes a difference, and every difference builds a healthier world.

Roles and Responsibilities

Design and implement advanced MR acquisition, reconstruction, and post-processing methods that improve scan speed, image quality, motion robustness, and clinical utility. Serve as technical lead for key academic and clinical collaborations, aligning research objectives with GE HealthCare product strategy and enabling rigorous scientific evaluation. Lead research and prototype development in accelerated imaging, motion correction, non-Cartesian imaging, quantitative imaging, and AI-enabled reconstruction. Translate promising and validated prototypes into product-ready solutions through internal collaborations with internal engineering, regulatory, and marketing teams. Conduct and disseminate original research through invention disclosures, peer-reviewed publications, conference presentations, and internal knowledge sharing. Communicate technical analyses, experimental results, and strategic recommendations to GE HealthCare leaders, engineering teams, clinical stakeholders, and academic collaborators.

Required Qualifications

Advanced degree from an accredited university or college in a technical field such as engineering, computer science, math, or physics. Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience applying theoretical or experiential knowledge to solve real-world problems in MR image acquisition, reconstruction, image processing, or related application development. Strong knowledge of MR physics, including pulse sequences, acquisition techniques, k-space sampling, reconstruction strategies, image artifacts, and clinical imaging requirements. Proficiency with modern programming languages such as Python or C++, machine learning frameworks such as PyTorch or TensorFlow, containerized software environments, version control systems, and AI-enabled software development tools. Strong foundation in signal processing, inverse problems, and numerical optimization. Ability to work independently with minimal direction. Strong collaboration skills and desire to contribute to a common purpose. Can-do attitude; self-driven, flexible, intellectually curious, and willing to learn new skills and take on new challenges to meet business goals. Excellent English-language communication skills. We expect all employees to live and breathe our behaviors: to act with humility and build trust; lead with transparency; deliver with focus, and drive ownership –always with unyielding integrity.

Our total rewards are designed to unlock your ambition by giving you the boost and flexibility you need to turn your ideas into world-changing realities. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the pay range and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. The specific compensation offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including skills, qualifications, experience and location. In addition, this position may also be eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI).

  • Our salary and benefits are everything you’d expect from an organization with global strength and scale, and you’ll be surrounded by career opportunities in a culture that fosters care, collaboration and support.
