Job summary

NOW Health Group INC is seeking an Inspector I to sample and inspect in-process materials, finished products, and incoming raw materials. The role may focus on QC inspection areas and requires adherence to GMP and SOP guidelines.

The candidate will document results, review COA/COC, and communicate any issues to supervisors to support safe, compliant production. Education includes a high school diploma and up to two years of related inspection experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; 0–2 years related inspection experience.
• Familiarity with general inspection procedures and basic computer skills.
• Experience in quality department preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs raw material evaluation on all incoming shipments and obtains representative lot samples.
• Completes necessary documentation and Oracle entries.
• Samples incoming raw material and incoming packaged products upon receipt in warehouse.
• Reviews COC/COA of incoming material and/or packaging components as needed.
• Reviews documentation for completeness and compliance with GMPs and SOPs.
• Performs random in-process testing to verify operator’s results.
• Releases materials for use and reviews documentation for completeness.
• Communicates problems/out-of-specification issues to supervisor/lead and operations personnel.
• Assists supervisor/lead in conducting investigations.
• Performs AQL inspections on bulk or packaged product; places product on hold when needed.
• Follows safety and GMP requirements.

SUMMARY

Samples and inspects in-process materials, finished products, incoming raw materials, etc. Inspector I may be assigned to work given day.in any area in which he/she has been trained based on the needs of the department, generally only works in one QC inspection area.

Requirements

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

If assigned to incoming inspection:

• Performs raw material evaluation on all incoming shipments and obtains representative lot samples.
• Completes necessary documentation and Oracle entries.
• Samples incoming raw material and incoming packaged products upon receipt in warehouse.
• Reviews COC/COA of incoming material and/or incoming packaging component, as needed.

If assigned to processing or packaging inspection:

• Reviews documentation for completeness and compliance with GMPs and SOPs.
• Performs random in-process testing to verify operator’s results.
• Releases materials for use and reviews documentation for completeness.
• Communicates problems/out-of-specification issues to supervisor/lead and operations personnel.
• Assists supervisor/lead in conducting investigations.
• Performs AQL inspections on bulk or packaged product, as needed.
• Places product on hold status to investigate quality issues.

Complies with safety and GMP requirements.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or equivalent and zero to two years related inspection experience. Familiarity with general inspection procedures and basic computer skills are required. Experience in quality department preferred.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret documents such as product specifications, departmental instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine e-mails to communicate within QC and with operations personnel. Must have good writing and good communication skills.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, and averages.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to compare results to specifications to determine if result meets requirements. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions.

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Ability to work in quick-paced environment and change tasks frequently. Ability to learn quickly, operate independently, and to assume responsibility for new tasks is necessary.

• Lift 20 lbs. from waist to 65 inches and return to waist level.
• Lift 35 lbs. from 5 inches to 47 inches and return to 5 inches.
• Lift 50 lbs. from waist with 90 degree turn.
• Raise 55 lb. pallet from floor onto one side, move it up to 10 ft. and return to original position.
• Push and pull with force of 42 lbs. at 36 inch height.
