Job summary

General Atomics Aeronautical Systems, Inc. (GA-ASI) in Poway, CA, seeks a Project Engineer to join the MQ-9B Europe Programs Engineering team supporting NATO partners on an international program.

You will define system requirements, develop plans, execute development and test activities, and coordinate with program management and customers. Travel up to 25%; DoD/NATO program experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a bachelor’s degree, master’s degree or PhD in engineering or related field with progressive experience.
• Must understand engineering concepts, principles, codes, and theory and apply them to complex problems.
• Strong communication, documentation and interpersonal skills are essential.
• Professional Engineering License is desirable and DoD security clearance is required.

Responsibilities

• Define system requirements, develop program plans and proposals.
• Execute development and test activities and support airworthiness certification.
• Collaborate with program management, customers and internal engineering teams.
• Travel up to 25% for meetings in the U.S. and OCONUS.
• Lead or participate in reviews and ensure compliance with safety standards.
