Job summary

AVIAN in Patuxent River, MD seeks an MQ-9 Reaper Air Vehicle Pilot (AVP) to join the Navy/Marine Corps' premier UAS test squadron, UX-24. You will pilot the MQ-9 and lead aircrew and flight test engineers to deliver new capabilities for the warfighter.

The position requires 1000+ flight hours (manned/unmanned), 500 hours PIC in medium/high altitude UAS, an active Secret clearance, and ability to obtain Top Secret clearance. Most work is on-site with occasional travel.

Qualifications

• Qualified MQ-9 pilot with SLR experience.
• 1000+ documented flight hours (manned/unmanned).
• Minimum 500 hours PIC in medium/high altitude long endurance UAS.
• Active DoD security clearance (ability to obtain Top Secret).
• FAA Second Class Medical required.

Responsibilities

• Support a wide range of test and evaluation requirements: test planning, test plan development, event planning, test procedure and card development, flight briefings, test execution, post-event support, test reporting, deficiency reporting.
• Act as Pilot-in-Command (PIC) of MQ-9 aircraft for launch and recovery.
• Coordinate and participate in UAS ground and flight operations, including mission planning, execution, briefing, debriefing, and safety.
• Plan, organize, and execute flight plans; review maintenance logs and weather data.
• Travel to CONUS and OCONUS sites; primary work on-site at NAS Patuxent River, MD.
