Job summary

Colonial Group is seeking an MPD Field Technician to repair, maintain, and calibrate MPD equipment, including valves, lines, chokes, and instrumentation, adhering to company standards.

You will troubleshoot software/hardware on-site and remotely, perform preventive maintenance, and provide field support for operations with extensive travel to customer locations.

Qualifications

  • 2–4 years of field service experience.
  • First Aid Certification required.
  • H2S Certification required.
  • Forklift Certification required.
  • Fall Arrest Certification required.

Responsibilities

Job description

Position Description:

The MPD Field Technician will be responsible for the repair, maintenance, and calibration of MPD equipment, encompassing valves, lines, chokes, and instrumentation, following company standards. The role includes troubleshooting software and hardware issues on-site and remotely, while conducting preventive maintenance checks, and actively participating in field support and operations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Repair, overhaul, and pressure testing where appropriate, all MPD equipment including lines, valves,chokes, instrumentation, and hydraulic systems as per company standards.
  • Troubleshoot software, firmware, and hardware problems both on site and remotely.
  • Inspect all equipment used and perform preventive maintenance checks and service.
  • Maintain company issued tools and develop knowledge and skill in their use.
  • Extensive travel to customer’s locations and field support of on-going operations will be required.
  • Install, function test, and operate the MPD Control System on rigs.
  • Calibrate, document, troubleshoot, and repair/replace instrumentation for systems that measure andcontrol level, temperature, pressure, flow, and other process variables.
  • Perform maintenance and system checks on the MPD equipment.
  • Document and report all equipment problems, maintenance, repairs, and transfers.
Experience and Educational Requirements:
  • 2-4 years of field service experience
  • First Aid Certification
  • H2S Certification
  • Forklift Certification
  • Fall Arrest Certification
Preferred Experience:
  • Previous experience with API Requirements
  • Relevant post secondary education
Qualifications:
  • Valid drivers license and clean drivers abstract.
  • Mechanically inclined and able to implement mechanical knowledge and skill.
  • Excellent communication (written and verbal), analytical and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Able to handle multiple tasks under tight deadlines requiring minimal supervision.
  • Organized, dependable and action oriented.
Knowledge of:
  • Maintenance processes and procedures.
  • Mechanical tools and equipment.
  • Electronic, hydraulic and instrumentation systems.
  • Quality control requirements.
