Job summary

iWorkforce Solutions in Anchorage, Alaska seeks a Shop Technician Level 1 to support shop efficiency by assisting with equipment maintenance, inspections, repairs, and general facility upkeep. Qualifications

  • 1–2 years of experience in a shop environment.
  • Mechanically inclined with the ability to apply mechanical knowledge effectively.
  • Effective written and verbal communication, analytical and interpersonal skills.
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel).

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
  • Perform routine facility and yard upkeep
  • Utilize SiteDocs daily to complete required safety and maintenance forms
  • Participate in safety meetings and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Assist in inspecting, repairing, and maintaining RCD equipment
  • Keep accurate records of inspections, maintenance, and repairs
  • Support the shipping and receiving process for MPD/RCD equipment
  • Assist in receiving vendor orders and verifying shipments
  • Deliver and/or pick up supplies from vendors as needed
  • Conduct preventive maintenance checks and service on RCD equipment
  • Maintain company‑issued tools and develop skills in their use
  • Provide support to the Shop Foreman and Operations Team with maintenance tasks

Job description

We are currently seeking a Shop Technician Level 1 to join a leading Oil & Gas operation in Anchorage, Alaska. This position plays a key role in supporting overall shop efficiency by assisting with equipment maintenance, inspections, repairs, and general facility upkeep.

The ideal candidate is hands‑on, mechanically inclined, and committed to maintaining a safe and organized work environment. This role operates in a demanding, rugged environment and requires attention to detail, strong teamwork, and a proactive approach to continuous improvement.

Starting pay rate: $24 per hour.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
  • Perform routine facility and yard upkeep
  • Utilize SiteDocs daily to complete required safety and maintenance forms
  • Participate in safety meetings and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Assist in inspecting, repairing, and maintaining RCD equipment

  • Ability to handle multiple tasks under tight deadlines with minimal supervisionOrganized, dependable, and action‑oriented
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel).
Required Certifications:
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
  • First Aid Certification
  • Fall Arrest Certification
  • Forklift Certification
