Our Opening and Your Responsibilities
Role/Purpose: The MP Machinist II is responsible for setting up and operating a variety of machine tools to produce precision parts while maintaining quality and safety standards.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Physically and systematically receive and verify raw material receipts.
- Safely load and unload materials manually and using a forklift.
- Communicate material location changes with the inventory team.
- Deburr parts and help ensure quality standards are met.
- Follow the work schedule as assigned and prioritize tasks accordingly.
- Ensure all parts produced are confirmed in SAP, tagged, and staged properly.
- Perform cycle counting as required.
- Install machine programs and modifications as needed.
- Operate CNC Mills (Haas TM, Haas VF, Doosan DNM5700), CNC Lathes (Haas SL30, Haas ST40, Doosan Lynx 2600), or plastic routers.
- Perform routine preventative maintenance on machinery.
- Conduct Quality at the Source checks on produced parts.
- Accurately record actual labor estimates on all production orders.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area following 5S standards.
- Stand, walk, bend, and sit for extended periods.
- Occasionally lift/move up to 50 lbs.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
What You Need to Succeed
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Proficiency with basic hand tools, squaring, and straight edges.
- Safe loading and unloading of machines with various materials.
- Ability to prioritize and solve problems.
- Proficient in reading blueprints and engineered drawings.
- Basic to intermediate SAP experience.
- Understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles.
- Ability to multitask and perform duties using imperial and metric measurements.
- Ability to follow written and oral instructions.
- Work effectively in a high-paced environment.
- Basic knowledge of setup functions.
- Attention to detail and safety awareness.
This position is safety sensitive and subject to drug testing as permitted by law. Overtime may be required based on business needs.
Minimum Education / Experience Required
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- 1-2 years of experience in a similar environment/position, or meet all internal manufacturing training/skills matrix qualifications for Level II.
