U-Haul is seeking a responsible, motivated, and thoughtful individual to join us as a General Manager Trainee. In this role, you will learn how to manage a moving and storage center, focusing on making our rental facilities profitable and efficient by managing inventory and equipment, and solving problems as they arise. Managing a U-Haul moving and storage center is a varied, fast-paced, and rewarding experience.

Additionally, we offer a $100 hiring bonus and a $300 cash bonus upon completion of the U-Haul Equipment Inspection and Verification through our 1-2-3 Punch Certification Program at retail stores.

Responsibilities:

• Manage the fleet to ensure equipment is clean and well-maintained
• Track and itemize inventory
• Provide high-quality customer care
• Monitor fuel receipts and petty cash
• Maintain a clean and secure premises
• Participate in ongoing education through U-Haul University

Minimum Requirements:

• 1-3 years of management experience in retail or service industry, with responsibility for financial results and customer satisfaction
• Computer proficiency
• Strong organizational skills
• Management experience in high-volume retail with profit and loss accountability
• Valid driver’s license with a good driving record
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Availability to work weekends and holidays

Work Environment:

Involves moderate risks requiring safety precautions, such as working around moving parts, machinery, fumes, or chemicals. Protective gear may be required.

Physical Demands:

Requires physical exertion, including standing for long periods, moving within indoor and outdoor spaces, and lifting a minimum of 50 lbs with or without assistance.
