Job summary

Knightvest Residential is seeking a Make Ready Technician to prepare apartments for move-in at our Chapel Hill property. You will work with the Service Manager to complete make-ready tasks, support the maintenance team, and ensure every unit is move-in ready. This hands-on role values problem-solving and delivering a high-quality resident experience.

You should own personal tools and be able to read, write, and speak English. On-call availability after hours is required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 months of experience as a Make Ready Technician.
• Hands-on skills in plumbing, basic electrical work, carpentry, painting, and appliance repair.
• Renovation experience preferred.
• EPA Section 608 Certification preferred or must obtain within 90 days.
• Certified Pool Operator (CPO) preferred.
• Certified Apartment Maintenance Technician (CAMT) preferred.
• Must own personal tools.
• Must be able to work on-call after hours for emergencies.
• Must be able to read, write, and speak English.

Responsibilities

• Prepare apartments for move-in by completing make-ready checklists and ensuring KV standards.
• Perform repairs and improvements including blinds, drywall, caulking, painting, plumbing touch-ups, lighting, and basic appliance work.
• Submit completed checklists and documentation to the Service Manager.
• Accept service requests from the work-order log and complete tasks promptly.
• Assist with preventative maintenance and special projects.
• Maintain grounds, common areas and amenities; supervise upkeep and report issues.
• Assist sister properties as needed to maintain quality and service.
• Distribute notices and communications to residents as needed.
