Job summary

UT MD Anderson Cancer Center in the Texas Medical Center is seeking a Research Assistant II for Dr. Yun’s Laboratory.

The role provides technical and organizational support for research projects and lab operations, with daily mouse-related work including colony maintenance, breeding, and genotyping, under PI guidance. The ideal candidate is scientifically curious, reliable, and team‑oriented, with a strong interest in research and willingness to contribute to collaborative projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Basic Science required.
• Master’s Degree in Basic Science and a Medical Degree preferred.
• One year scientific or experimental research experience preferred or no experience required with preferred degree.

Responsibilities

• Organize, handle, monitor, and maintain mouse colonies.
• Coordinate mouse breeding activities and colony maintenance.
• Perform genotyping procedures.
• Conduct basic non-invasive and invasive mouse procedures under approved protocols.
• Assist with mouse experiments conducted by laboratory personnel.
• Perform routine laboratory procedures and biological experiments.
• Learn to operate laboratory equipment and apparatus.
• Maintain detailed and accurate experimental records.
• Monitor and maintain laboratory supply levels and equipment.
