Ford Performance is looking for an experienced, talented, and highly motivated Motorsports Engine Builder to join our Global Motorsports department. Candidates will have the opportunity to work in a highly dynamic environment, developing cutting edge powertrains to race around the world.

This is an on-site position located in Dearborn, MI.

Qualifications

You\'ll have...

  • Technical Institute / Vocational Training in automotive technology, motorsports engineering, or high-performance engine building
  • Minimum 3+ years of race or high-performance engine building experience
  • Strong understanding of internal combustion engine theory, mechanics, and systems
  • Proficient knowledge of manufacturing processes and the ability to accurately interpret complex engineering blueprints and schematics
  • Attention to detail and ability to maintain a clean, organized, and efficient work environment
  • Capable of standing for long periods and occasionally moving parts weighing up to 50 lbs
  • This is an on-site position located in Dearborn, MI

  • Expertise using measurement instruments such as calipers, bore gauges, micrometers, etc.
  • Proactive problem-solving skills by consistently seeking and implementing solutions to technical challenges
  • Ability to fabricate unique solutions given limited resources
  • Proficiency with computer systems and related software applications (Microsoft applications)
  • Possess a competitive spirit, can-do attitude, and interest in motorsports
  • International and Domestic travel may be required

This position is a range of salary grades 6-8 .

Responsibilities
  • Perform assembly, disassembly, and rebuilding of high-performance race engines, adhering to engineering specifications and quality standards
  • Maintain detailed records of all engine builds, including component history and critical tolerances, ensuring traceability and quality assurance
  • Execute non-destructive tests and inspections, such as crack testing and detailed tolerance checks, to verify component integrity and dimensional accuracy
  • Strictly adhere to cleanroom protocols and best practices to prevent contamination
  • Proactively identify opportunities for improvements in build and teardown processes
  • Organize and maintain facilities to ensure a suitable build environment for world class race engines
  • Generate engine teardown reports including pictures and measurement data
  • Provide support for dyno testing, including build verification, performance development, as well as engine installation and removal
