Smedley Group is seeking a Kart Mechanic for FAT Karting League in Texas with travel across the state. You’ll maintain and prepare a fleet of electric race karts, diagnose and repair issues under race conditions, and support operations at live events.
This is a hands-on role requiring quick thinking, strong mechanical skills, and a passion for motorsport. You'll work workshop-based during the week and travel on weekends, with opportunities for out-of-state travel when not racing in Texas.
We believe the world's fastest driver hasn't raced… yet.
At FAT Karting League, our mission is to open up motorsport to the next generation by breaking down barriers to entry. We're building a competitive, high-quality karting platform for drivers aged 6-17, and we're looking for mechanics who want to be part of that journey.
This isn't a back-of-the-garage role. You'll be working at the heart of a growing race program - preparing karts, supporting live race events, and helping deliver competitive performance on track.
If you're looking to build a long-term career in motorsport, this is an opportunity to get hands-on experience across all aspects of race operations - not just a narrow role in a large team.
Don't tick every box?
If you've got solid mechanical skills and the drive to build a career in motorsport, we still want to hear from you.

We are looking for a mechanic with at least a year's experience to join our team to assist in the preparation and maintenance of karts. Ideally you should have experience with race cars, motorbikes or karts.
If you have the mechanical skills in other areas, and want to develop a career in motorsport, we would still like to hear from you.
