Job summary

Wilo USA is seeking a Product Engineer for Motors, Controls & Instrumentation (MC&I) to advance next‑gen pumping solutions. You will specify motors, VFDs, controls, sensors, and connectivity for pump products and systems.

You’ll collaborate across Engineering, Product Management, Sourcing, Quality, Manufacturing, suppliers, and customers from concept through validation, launch, and lifecycle support.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or related field.
• 3–5 years in motor, electromechanical, controls, automation, or product engineering.
• Experience with electric motors, motor controls, VFDs, or related tech.
• Hands-on PLCs, HMIs, SCADA, instrumentation, or controls integration.
• Ability to read electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, P&IDs, and I/O lists.
• Collaborate across Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Sourcing, Product Management, and suppliers.

Responsibilities

• Develop Motor & Controls Solutions: Evaluate and specify motors, VFDs, controls, instrumentation, and connectivity technologies.
• Evaluate & Develop Suppliers: Identify motor and controls suppliers, assess capabilities, lead tech reviews, support prototypes, and resolve issues.
• Integrate Control Systems: Support motor/VFD matching, PLC/HMI/SCADA integration, control-loop tuning, sensors, transmitters, I/O.
• Support Industrial Communications: Configure and troubleshoot Modbus, EtherNet/IP, PROFINET, CAN/CANopen networks.
• Test & Validate Products: Develop and support performance, efficiency, durability, reliability testing; analyze results; support FMEA/DFMEA.
• Support Connected Products: Assist with telemetry, wireless, remote monitoring, basic networking.
• Drive Product Launch: Partner with Manufacturing and Quality on pilot builds, manufacturability, supplier qualification, engineering changes, product release.
• Provide Technical Support: Troubleshoot motors, VFDs, controls, instrumentation, connectivity for internal teams, suppliers, customers.
• Support Compliance: Assist with UL, CSA, CE and other certification requirements.
