Job summary

APAC-AL, Inc. in the southeastern U.S. is seeking a dependable individual to operate construction equipment on project sites.

The role supports highway and road work by handling machines, following safety rules, and working with other crews to complete tasks efficiently. You will gain hands-on experience in grading, drainage, paving preparation, and equipment maintenance, while learning to identify issues and communicate with supervisors.

Qualifications

• Prior experience operating construction equipment.
• Able to oil, grease, service and adjust equipment.
• Understand road construction concepts including grading, drainage, paving patterns, aggregate size, job specifications, oil consistencies, and compaction.
• Willing to learn the efficient working condition of the equipment and perform minor servicing or refer major problems to the supervisor.
• May perform other related duties such as shovel work, setting string line, and layout.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Prior experience operating construction equipment
• May oil, grease, service and make normal operating adjustments to equipment.
• Possess a solid understanding of aspects of the road construction industry including preparatory work, grades, drainage, paving patterns, aggregate size, job specifications, oil consistencies, and compaction.
• Must be willing and able to learn the efficient working condition of the equipment and is expected to perform minor servicing and maintenance or refer major problems to the supervisor.
• May perform other related duties such as shovel work, setting string line, and layout.
