Job Summary

Team Oregon instructors deliver classroom and on‑cycle motorcycle safety courses for riders of all levels. Instructors are responsible for student safety, effective coaching during on‑cycle instruction, site and motorcycle maintenance, equipment delivery, training other instructors, site compliance audits, and community outreach.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with faculty to determine program goals and objectives.
• Develop and deliver educational programs independently in accordance with Team Oregon curricula.
• Apply classroom management practices to ensure courses are delivered accurately and effectively.
• Teach motorcycle safety training classes and provide coaching, counseling, and remediation to students.
• Coordinate and assist with training of new staff, volunteers, interns, or apprentices.
• Recruit and select vendors and instructors and ensure compliance with policies and security measures.
• Maintain team status, first‑aid certification, and knowledge of assignments.
• Compile and summarize program data and reports.
• Promote and market the educational program and conduct outreach presentations at community events.
• Deliver equipment and collaterals and perform minor repairs on vehicles and equipment.

What You Will Need

• Experience riding two‑wheeled motorcycles.
• Completion of Team Oregon Instructor Preparation Range Training and Range Apprenticeship Program within 30 days of hire.
• First‑aid certification within 60 days of hire.
• Current, valid motorcycle endorsement before hire.
• Successful completion of a criminal history check, motor vehicle history check, and possession of a valid driver’s license in the state of residence. Incumbents must self‑report convictions per University policies.

Working Conditions / Schedule

• Ability to lift and maneuver training motorcycles, 60‑pound boxes, and 40‑pound gas cans.
• Ability to push/pull motorcycles (~300 lbs), bend, stand for up to eight hours, and run on weekends and evenings.
• Operation of Team Oregon trucks, trailers, and motorcycles; travel may be required.
• Classes are held outdoors in all weather conditions.

Pay Method and Salary

Hourly; salary commensurate with education, training, and experience. Pay is issued on the last working day of each month, with a 16th‑to‑15th pay period.
