Job description
Responsibilities
Develop and follow efficient, consistent, and safe bus routes for routine trips (e.g., to and from school) to minimize transportation time.
Ensure the safety and well‑being of children, youth, and adults being transported to and from the program and on field trips.
Practice bus evacuation following prescribed procedures with children and youth on a monthly basis.
Arrange for and ensure completion of routine maintenance of the bus (e.g., oil change) by transporting the bus to and from maintenance facilities.
Complete a comprehensive written inspection of the bus daily, reporting any concerns to the supervisor before transporting children/youth.

Must be at least 18 years of age at time of appointment and meet qualification, eligibility, and background requirements for this position.
A one‑year probationary period may be required.
Satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E‑Verify) check.
Satisfactory completion of pre‑employment background checks in accordance with AR 215‑3, 2‑15.m., and a Child Care Tier 1 background investigation is required.
Must have current health assessment indicating good mental and physical health, freedom from communicable disease, and immunizations in accordance with current Army and DoD policy, including annual influenza vaccinations.
Schedule includes irregular hours, evenings, and/or weekends. Duties involve working both indoors and outdoors under different weather conditions.
This position requires mandatory drug testing.
Satisfactory performance and successful completion of annual training requirements within the prescribed timeframe are required.
This position requires mandated reporting of all suspected incidents of child abuse/neglect.
The physical ability to lift and carry up to 40 lbs, walk, bend, stoop, and stand on a routine basis is required.
The appropriate driver’s license must be valid and current.
Qualifications

Valid state driver’s license to operate a 15‑passenger vehicle.
