Job description

Employee will be assigned to the Maintenance and Operations Section, VA Medical Center Nashville, TN, serving as a Motor Vehicle Operator. Employee regularly transports patients when requested to meet program needs and facilitate clinic visits. This position includes a Selective Placement Factor (skill, knowledge, ability or other worker characteristic basic to - and essential for - satisfactory performance of the job). Selective Placement Factors are a prerequisite to appointment and represent minimum requirements for a position. Applicants who do not meet it are ineligible for further consideration.

The Selective Placement Factor for this position is:

Must possess a valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) class B with passenger endorsement. Please do not submit a copy of your license with your application package. You will be required to show your valid commercial driver's license at the time of your interview.

PHYSICAL EFFORT AND WORK CONDITIONS:

Moderate physical effort is required in the handling of objects. Physical effort is used in reaching, bending, turning, in operating the vehicle. Works outside and at times is exposed to bad weather in loading and unloading vehicles. Is subject to injury as a result of accidents, while driving or loading and unloading vehicles.

Your qualifications will first be evaluated against the prescribed screen out element (WG-2 and higher only; screen-outs are not applicable to WG-1). The potential eligibles are rated against the remainder of the job elements.
