Job summary

Akima Facilities Operations (AFO) is seeking a Motor Vehicle Mechanic Helper to join our team at Fort Hood, TX. The role involves washing, cleaning, lubricating vehicles, handling automotive parts, and keeping work areas organized.

Candidates should have basic maintenance experience, pass pre-employment drug and background checks, and be able to obtain a favorable Tier-1 Investigation. A valid driver's license, HS diploma/GED, and CDL with Passenger Endorsement are preferred.

Qualifications

• Must have basic maintenance experience.

• Must be able to receive a favorable Tier-1 Investigation.
• Knowledgeable in U.S. Army maintenance procedures and AR 750-1.
• U.S. Army 91 series MOS qualification or civilian equivalent.
• Valid Driver’s License.
• High School Diploma / GED.
• Commercial Driver's License with Passenger Endorsement.

Responsibilities

• Physical requirements include lifting up to 50 pounds and other movements; work may include overtime and exposure to heat, dust, and weather.

Responsibilities

• The Motor Vehicle Mechanic Helper performs a variety of tasks such as washing, cleaning, and lubricating vehicles; loading, unloading, and storing automotive parts and supplies; and maintaining work areas.
• Physical requirements include (but are not limited to) the ability to lift 50 pounds, pushing, pulling, carrying, stooping, bending, squatting, and reaching. Work environment includes periodic overtime, exposure to heat, dust, cold, and inclement weather conditions.
