Job description

Our client has an immediate opening for a full-time Field Service Mechanic. Field Service Technicians work on our energy-efficient line of stationary engines. This position offers the opportunity to work for one of the largest cogeneration companies in the area, providing combined heat and power as well as cooling to our customers.

Responsibilities include:

  • Travel daily in a company vehicle to dispersed customer locations.
  • Perform major system repairs, including removal and installation of cylinder heads and complete engines.
  • Conduct engine diagnostic tests such as compression ratio, cylinder leak down, and exhaust emissions sampling.
  • Replace factory parts and components on our products.
  • Troubleshoot control systems including sensors, switches, relays, contactors, actuators, and control valves using digital voltmeters, current clamp-on meters, and embedded control system diagnostics.

Qualifications include:

  • Valid driver’s license (for operating company vehicle).
  • Ability to lift and maneuver objects over 40 lbs.
  • Ability to read and follow manuals, electrical, and mechanical diagrams.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Motivation to learn and troubleshoot products independently.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
