Job Overview
Responsible for driving and operating a bulk container service truck in the collection and disposal of industrial/commercial garbage and refuse.
NOTE:Employee may be required to respond to a disaster, either natural or man-made, to serve the citizens of Statesville. Service to the citizens during a disaster may result in the assignment of other duties, which will take precedence over duties described in this job description. This job description is not intended to be all-inclusive. Employees may perform other related duties as needed to meet the needs of the organization.

Job Related Physical Activity Requirements
This position involves heavy work requiring the exertion of 100 pounds of force occasionally, up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Physical activity related to this position may require the use of fingers and hands, climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, and repetitive motions; vocal communication is required to express or exchange ideas by means of the spoken word; hearing is required to perceive information at normal spoken word levels; visual acuity is required for the operation of machines, motor vehicles, or equipment, determining the accuracy and thoroughness of work, and observing general surroundings and activities.
Working Conditions
The employee is subject to outdoor environmental conditions including extreme heat and cold, noise, vibration, fumes, odors, gases, oils, and hazards including proximity to moving mechanical parts. Employee may be required to wear a respirator during the leaf collection season and could be "reasonably anticipated," in performing his or her job duties, to face contact with blood and other potentially infectious materials.
