General Summary

This position leads a variety of multimedia projects and is responsible for creating high-quality, compelling videos and animations that highlight the college's academic and support programs, along with telling the stories of our diverse student body. In addition, this position supports a variety of marketing efforts, including assisting with print and graphic design projects.

As part of the Communications and Marketing team, this position plays a key role in supporting student enrollment, engagement and retention, as well as building trust and understanding within the communities we serve.

This is a full-time, salaried-overtime eligible, at will position.

Reporting directly to Director of Marketing, Design & Production, this position will :

  • Act as lead project manager for the majority of Communications & Marketing video projects;
  • Develop multimedia content ideas in collaboration with other members of the Communications and Marketing team;
  • Meet with campus stakeholders across various academic and support departments to determine and set video project scope;
  • Conceptualize and storyboard videos and animations and then communicates these ideas to others;
  • Shoot and edit videos on a variety of subjects using current best particles and techniques;
  • Use Adobe Premiere (or DaVinci Resolve) and After Affects to produce high-quality videos and animations. May occasionally use CapCut, depending on project type;
  • Use Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop to create new and modify existing design assets for use in video and animation projects;
  • Use new and existing design assets, creates original and engaging animations that can be used independently or combined with video footage;
  • Create short-form instructional videos using stock and original animations;
  • Help support and grow the college's social media presence by creating short, engaging videos for Instagram, Facebook, TikTok and Snapchat, including videos for social media advertising;
  • Stay abreast of campus events and how to leverage them through video;
  • Attend select campus events for the purpose of capturing video and b-roll;
  • As needed, assists graphic designers and other staff with print and graphic design projects;
  • Upload videos to the college's YouTube channel and assists the Marketing Director with maintaining and promoting the channel;
  • As needed, assist other Communications and Marketing staff with still photography to support overall marketing efforts;
  • Work in a dynamic, team environment to develop and implement communications and / or marketing plans, such as guidelines, procedures, flowcharts, and timelines.
  • In-depth knowledge of and high level of proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite with emphasis on Premiere Pro, After Effects, Illustrator and Photoshop. Knowledge and proficiency in DaVinci Resolve is helpful but not required;
  • Strong familiarity with major social media platforms, such as Facebook, Instagram and TikTok, and the platforms' specific video requirements and best practices;
  • Ability to seamlessly integrate video footage and animations to enhance viewer engagement and content retention;
  • Ability to quickly storyboard, conceptualize and articulate video and animation ideas;
  • Experience using a variety of video cameras, lighting equipment and microphones;
  • Ability to manage several projects concurrently and be able to adapt quickly to changing priorities;
  • Ability to quickly produce post-event highlight videos;
  • Ability to survey, question, listen, translate, and implement changes based on feedback from campus clients and team members;
  • Ability to grasp an overview of projects and to organize and prioritize each step in the process of video production;
  • Ability to communicate effectively and to work with a range of people at various stages of a project;
  • Good time management skills to meet deadlines on multiple projects;
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and organizational skills.
  • Experience using a digital camera and understanding of the principles of good still photography;
  • Strong familiarity with marketing strategies and tactics;
  • Experience following brand standards and operating within identity guidelines;
  • Experience in fast-paced work environments;
  • Ability to use lay terms while communicating with non-marketing and non-communications staff and customers.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications :

  • Bachelor's degree in multimedia design / video production, graphic design, visual design, or related field of study; AND
  • Two years of professional video production, multimedia design and digital animation experience using industry-standard tools and software; AND
  • Online portfolio of work that demonstrates strong command of modern video and animation techniques
  • Four years' work experience may substitute for bachelor's degree; AND
  • Online portfolio of work that demonstrates strong command of modern video and animation techniques.
