ARTISAN is seeking a Motion Designer/Animator for a full-time hybrid role in Indianapolis. You will take briefs from storyboard to final animation, delivering high-impact motion graphics primarily with After Effects, and collaborating with the team on brand-driven visuals.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years of motion design experience, a strong portfolio, and proficiency in After Effects, Illustrator, and Photoshop. Onsite obligations include commuting to Indianapolis at least one day a week.

Our client is seeking a Motion Designer / Animator to create high-impact motion graphics and animation for a wide range of brand experiences. This is a hands‑on role for someone who can take an idea from creative brief and storyboard through final animation, with a strong emphasis on motion design and Adobe After Effects. The team already has dedicated film editing support, so this role is focused specifically on animation and motion graphics. Experience creating 3D work is a significant plus.

This is a full‑time hybrid opportunity with an established Indianapolis creative agency known for nationally recognized clients, strong work, and a collaborative culture. Candidates should live within a reasonable commuting distance of Indianapolis and be able to work from the office at least one day per week.

You Will:

• Take ideas from creative brief and storyboard through final animation
• Create polished motion graphics and animation primarily using Adobe After Effects
• Translate complex ideas and concepts into clear, engaging visual stories
• Apply brand guidelines thoughtfully and help evolve brands through motion
• Explore a range of visual styles, animation techniques, and creative approaches
• Collaborate closely with creative team members while also managing assignments independently
• Produce work across social, digital, large-format, and national campaign applications
• Contribute 3D design and animation capabilities when appropriate

You Have:

• 3+ years of professional motion design or animation experience
• A strong portfolio or sizzle reel demonstrating a high level of motion design craft
• Advanced experience with Adobe After Effects, plus proficiency in Illustrator and Photoshop
• A strong understanding of composition, typography, timing, pacing, and storytelling through motion
• The ability to move from concept through execution while balancing quality, deadlines, and feedback
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills
• The ability to work onsite in Indianapolis at least one day per week
• Experience with 3D design and animation is a significant plus

Logistics:

• Start Date/Duration: Full-time position starting as soon as the right candidate is identified
• Hours/Week: 40+ hours per week in an agency environment
• Onsite/Offsite: Hybrid onsite Mondays and Wednesdays in downtown Indianapolis
• Location: Candidates should be based within a reasonable commuting distance of Indianapolis
• Salary: $80K-$120K
