The Division of Gastroenterology & Hepatology at Sidney Kimmel Medical College of Thomas Jefferson University is seeking a full-time, Motility-Trained Gastroenterologist to join our team at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in the heart of Philadelphia.
This is an outstanding opportunity for a gastroenterologist with advanced training in GI motility who is interested in developing a specialized clinical practice while also contributing to medical education, clinical research, scholarly activity, and innovation within an academic environment.
The successful candidate will provide expert evaluation and care for patients with complex esophageal, gastric, and intestinal motility disorders while working collaboratively with specialists across Jefferson.
This position provides an opportunity to focus your clinical practice on patients with complex gastrointestinal motility disorders while participating in the continued advancement of motility care at Jefferson.
Provide expert care for patients with complex esophageal, gastric, and intestinal motility disorders
Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team of gastroenterologists, surgeons, radiologists, and speech pathologists
Participate in clinical research related to gastrointestinal motility
Contribute to quality improvement initiatives
Participate in innovation involving motility diagnostics and therapeutics
Educate and mentor medical students, residents, and fellows
Participate in the education of physicians within Jefferson's Gastroenterology Fellowship Program
Contribute to Jefferson's academic mission through scholarly activity and publications
Complex motility disorders often require expertise extending beyond a single specialty. At Jefferson, the Motility Gastroenterologist will have the opportunity to collaborate with a multidisciplinary group that includes Gastroenterology, Surgery, Radiology, and Speech Pathology.
This collaborative environment provides an opportunity to care for patients with complex conditions involving the esophagus, stomach, and intestinal tract while contributing to the continued development of diagnostic and therapeutic approaches in GI motility.

Candidates should have:
M.D. or D.O. degree
Completion of an ACGME-accredited Gastroenterology Fellowship
Board Certification or Board Eligibility in Gastroenterology
Advanced training in GI motility
Experience managing patients with complex gastrointestinal motility disorders
Eligibility for, or current possession of, a Pennsylvania medical license
Candidates with an interest in medical education, clinical research, multidisciplinary care, and advancing motility diagnostics and therapeutics are encouraged to apply.
