Job summary

Anderson Hospital in Illinois is seeking a compassionate obstetric nurse to provide autonomous and team-based care in the Labor & Delivery unit. You will deliver newborn and perinatal care, follow the Illinois Nurse Practice Act, and collaborate with physicians, families, and staff to ensure safe, evidence-based practice.

Eligible candidates must hold an Illinois nursing license, BLS, and have 1 year obstetric nursing experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• Illinois license or eligible.
• BLS certification required.
• NRP preferred or must be completed within 12 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide age-appropriate obstetric nursing care and newborn care.
• Document accurately and timely per policy.
• Assess learning needs and educate patients and families.
• Utilize the nursing process to optimize patient outcomes.
• May serve as charge nurse and manage staffing and patient flow.
• Coordinate discharge planning based on patient needs.
