Job summary

Lifesteps Inc in Butler, PA is seeking a Mother and Child Welfare Specialist to support families through home visiting, scheduling well-baby visits, and guidance on infant and maternal care.

The role includes driving to family homes, documenting case management for managed care organizations, and working Monday to Friday 8:00am-4:30pm with a company vehicle.

Qualifications

We are immediately hiring a full-time Maternal Health Specialist.

Position Summary:

The Maternal Health Specialist works to assist mothers in scheduling and attending well-baby appointments; assess infant and women care and home supports; monitor infant and pediatric developmental stages; and offer guidance, education and referrals to parents as appropriate to achieve positive support outcomes through home visiting.

The Home Visitor position includes driving to the family home using an agency-provided vehicle for check in visits which cover topics such as: expectant mother and newborn baby health, education, nutrition, child growth and development, postpartum wellness, and well-baby follow-ups.

The Maternal Health Specialist also provides documentation and reports related to their case management for the MCO's and supervisors.

This position works Monday through Friday 8:00am - 4:30pm, with a vehicle provided.

Qualifications:

• Associates Degree in Child Development, Human Services, Social Work, Early Childhood Education (or a related field such as Family Relations, Sociology, Women's Studies, etc) OR a High School Diploma plusa home-based CDA credential or comparable credential.
• Demonstrate competency to plan and implement home-based learning experiences that ensure effective implementation of the home visiting curriculum and promote children’s progress.
• Knowledge in infant/toddler development/education/health/nutrition/safety as well as family dynamics and adult learning principles.
• Must be able to secure, within 90 days of hire, and maintain the basic first aid and pediatric CPR certification.
• Demonstrated ability to complete basic computer tasks or Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Current driver’s license and the ability to travel for business
• Ability to lift up to 25 pounds without assistance.

Preferred:

• 1 year experience in Early Education, Early Childhood Development, Children Services, Social Work, Women's Health, Case Management, Wellness Educator, Community Health Advocate or related field
• Previous experience as a Teacher Aide, Child Care Assistant, Social Worker, or other similar roles is helpful.
