Job summary

Galveston County Mosquito Control is seeking a Night shift Spray Truck Operator. You will operate a spray truck in designated areas to apply pesticides for mosquito control, perform safety inspections, and manage refilling and cleaning of tanks and equipment.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED and no prior experience. Valid driver's license is needed, and duties include upkeep of the vehicle, shop, and related tasks in a nocturnal schedule.

• Operates a spray truck in an assigned area.
• Maintains and performs safety inspections of assigned vehicle and equipment.
• Refills tank with chemicals as needed.
• Cleans tank internally and externally.
• Cleans and maintains shop, garage and hangar; sweeps, waxes and mops floors.
• Cleans airplanes as assigned.
• Assists in the repair and maintenance of vehicles and equipment.
• Obtains landing rate counts for mosquitoes before and after nightly sprayings.
• Performs related work as assigned.
