Job summary

Rentokil North America, Inc. is hiring a Mosquito Technician to provide quality, professional outdoor pest-control services. You will perform mosquito surveillance, larviciding and spraying while ensuring safety, courtesy, and dependability for every customer.

The role involves reading and following chemical labels, maintaining logs, and operating equipment. A high school diploma or GED and a valid driver’s license are required; prior customer-facing experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Licenses/certificates as required by federal, state, and/or local regulations (covered by us)
• Possess a valid driver’s license from state of residence.
• Basic math skills — add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

Responsibilities

• Routinely inspect control zones for potential mosquito breeding habitat and the presence of mosquito larvae by visual inspection and dipping.
• Assess each inspection site and utilize control techniques such as no action, source reduction, biological control, public education and chemical control at labeled rates.
• May place and retrieve monitoring devices for accessing mosquito populations.
• Record findings and control activities on logs and GPS, and enter data into VDCI’s database.
• Handle chemicals per label specifications and follow Safety Data Sheets (SDS).
• Use PPE and follow safety procedures; communicate respectfully with residents during inspections and activities.
