Job summary

Orange County Government is seeking an entry-level technician to perform fieldwork in applying approved chemicals to control mosquitoes across the county.

The role supports inspections, pesticide application, and record-keeping under supervision. A Florida driver’s license, high school diploma, and a Florida Pest Control License within six months are required, with preference for related outdoor experience.

Qualifications

• Entry-level skilled fieldwork applying approved chemicals to control mosquitoes.
• Ability to inspect and set traps and record pesticide usage.

Responsibilities

• Stores, mixes and applies pesticides and larvicides per regulations.
• Maintains daily work activity records including pesticide usage.
• Conducts field inspections to detect mosquitoes and sets traps.
• Learns to identify mosquito species in different life stages.
• Keeps up with advances in mosquito control through self-study and training.
• Performs basic calculations for spray areas and pesticide quantities.
• Performs related duties as assigned.
