Job summary

The Ohio State University invites applications for The Martha N. and John C. Moser Chair in Arthropod Biosystematics and Biological Diversity in the Department of Evolution, Ecology and Organismal Biology (EEOB).

The chair will lead the OSU entomological collections and build a nationally visible, externally funded research program in terrestrial arthropod evolution and biodiversity. We seek a colleague with a strong research program, excellence in teaching and mentorship, and a record of

Qualifications

• PhD in relevant field.
• Evidence of sustained productivity and excellence in research.
• Commitment to high-quality graduate and undergraduate teaching.
• Experience developing externally funded research programs.
• Mentorship of junior scholars.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain an externally funded, nationally-visible research program.
• Teach courses at the undergraduate and graduate level.
• Demonstrate excellence in student mentorship.
• Direct research and service activities of the Entomological Collections within the OSU Museum of Biological Diversity.
• Support departmental operations as an active citizen through service on committees, project assignments, and/or administrative leadership roles.
