Qualifications

• Ph.D. in Entomology, Arachnology, Systematics, Evolutionary Biology or related field.
• Demonstrated experience with natural history collections and integrating collections-based systematic research with genomics, imaging, and informatics.
• Proven track record of publishing original research in peer-reviewed journals.
• Demonstrated ability to articulate the relevance of one's scientific work to scientific and lay audiences.
• Ability to work collaboratively in an interdisciplinary environment.
• Associate-level qualifications: 5 years' experience and demonstrated success in an Assistant-level appointment.

Responsibilities

• Plans and executes original collections-based systematic research and publishes results.
• Directs expeditions and collaborative research to advance arthropod biodiversity.
• Secures extramural funding aligned with BEACON and related programs.
• Leads growth and management of the arachnid collection and associated type material.
• Contributes to training, mentorship, and public engagement activities.
