Job description

Job Title: Patient Care Program Manager

A.T. Still University's Missouri School of Dentistry & Oral Health (MOSDOH) is seeking a full-time Patient Care Program Manager on the St. Louis, Missouri Campus. This exempt position reports to the Director - Dentistry in Community. The manager will oversee and coordinate activities for a successful patient care program study, collaborating with outreach hygienists to coordinate outreach events.

The role includes screening potential participants, enrolling eligible patients, serving as a patient navigator, and managing all aspects of the funded project for programmatic and fiscal compliance. Collaboration with PIs to meet project goals is essential.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Monitor patient assignments, appointments, transportation, and treatment plans.
  • Coordinate with patient care staff, students, and faculty to address care issues related to the grant.
  • Use Affinia Healthcare and NexGen systems to generate reports.
  • Update PIs on project status and maintain timelines.
  • Prepare for outreach programs and facilitate dental care for participants.
  • Train stakeholders on the program's purpose.
  • Review paperwork and consents.
Requirements:

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in dental hygiene, business, healthcare, social work, or health education; MPH or MBA preferred.
  • Registered Dental Hygienist or Dental Assistant; understanding of treatment plans and dental terminology.
  • Two to three years of relevant experience.
  • Proficiency with spreadsheets, EDR/EMR, treatment plans, and dental terminology.
  • Ability to generate and interpret reports from NexGen.
  • Experience with data tracking and report generation using Excel or Google Sheets.
  • Some data entry responsibilities.
Personal Traits:
  • Ability to work with diverse personalities and abilities.
  • Effective communication with participants with limited health literacy and with healthcare professionals.
  • Dental knowledge is advantageous.
