Job summary

Space Coast Credit Union (SCCU) in Melbourne, FL seeks a Mortgage Support Specialist to provide essential back-office support throughout the mortgage process, including loan boarding, general ledger reconciliation, and appraisal desk coordination.

This role requires strong knowledge of mortgage operations, attention to detail, and the ability to problem-solve effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1+ years of experience in mortgage operations, loan servicing, or a related financial services role.
• Experience with general ledger reconciliations or accounting support is preferred.
• Prior exposure to appraisal management platforms or processes.
• Knowledge of regulatory guidelines (FHA, VA) is a plus.
• High School diploma or equivalent required.

Responsibilities

• Board newly originated loans into the servicing system, ensuring data integrity and compliance.
• Monitor and reconcile mortgage-related general ledger accounts and resolve discrepancies.
• Manage appraisal ordering, communicate with Appraisal Management Companies and loan officers.
• Review and upload loan documentation and maintain electronic filing systems.
• Assist with special projects and provide backup support to other mortgage operations functions.
• Ensure all tasks adhere to company policies, investor requirements, and regulatory standards.
• Provide courteous, professional member service in line with standards.
• Communicate clearly in writing and verbally, and maintain professional interactions.
• Propose process improvements to increase efficiency.

Mortgage Support Specialist Key Responsibilities:

• Accurately board newly originated loans into the servicing system; ensure data integrity and compliance with internal policies and investor guidelines.
• Monitor and reconcile mortgage-related general ledger accounts; identify and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
• Manage the appraisal ordering process, communicate with Appraisal Management Companies and loan officers/processors, and ensure timely delivery of appraisal reports.

Mortgage Support Specialist Requirements:

Minimum 1+ years of experience in mortgage operations, loan servicing, or a related financial services role.

Mortgage Support Specialist Compensation:

• Starting Salary: $24.74 - $26.20 hourly
• Bonus Opportunity: Eligible for ONE SCCU Annual Bonus.

Work Schedule

• Hybrid and Flexible Schedule Options: This position is hybrid with two days per week required in office.
• Monday – Friday: 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
